Good Morning! On this day in 1886, Apache leader Geronimo surrendered to U.S. troops in Arizona, closing the book on nearly 30 years of armed conflict between his band and U.S. forces. He was the last Native American leader to formally surrender to the U.S. military, and his surrender is widely considered the end of the Indian Wars in the Southwest.

Historic: Seniors Outnumber Young Kids Worldwide

For the first time in recorded history, people 65 and older now outnumber children under 5 worldwide, according to a new U.S. Census report released this week. Falling birthrates and longer lives drove the milestone, which arrived earlier than demographers expected.

The world's 65-plus population is projected to more than double by 2060, from 852 million today to 2 billion. More than 71% of humanity now lives in countries with birthrates below the replacement level, up from 45% a decade ago.

That means fewer workers supporting more retirees, straining pensions and Social Security. The U.S. ranks 48th-oldest among 227 countries, with nearly 19% of Americans 65 or older.

The report also calls longer lifespans "one of the great achievements of the last century" and notes that many seniors keep contributing to society through work, caregiving, and volunteering.

15 Colleges Now Cost over $100K a Year

Fifteen U.S. colleges now carry sticker prices above $100,000 a year, up from just two last year, according to a new analysis of Princeton Review pricing data. Over four years, that's nearly half a million dollars per student.

California's Harvey Mudd College tops the list at $104,512, followed by Duke and the University of Chicago. Brown, Columbia, and Cornell each came in just under the six-figure mark.

In a separate ranking of financial return on investment, Harvey Mudd comes in 50th, and NYU, the 12th priciest, comes in 321st in ROI. New York's public CUNY schools dominate the top spots for investment returns.

Need-based aid can cut the bill by about 75% at some schools, dropping one $102,260 cost to roughly $29,195. But only about half of students at top schools qualify for that aid. Experts say the rest, mainly families earning $300,000 or more, pay the full price.

Gloria Steinem Dies at 92

Gloria Steinem, the journalist and liberal activist who co-founded Ms. magazine and became one of the most recognized voices of the women's movement, died Wednesday at her home in New York City. She was 92.

Steinem launched Ms. in 1972 as the first major publication owned, run and written by women, covering reproductive rights, workplace issues, and violence against women. The magazine still publishes as a quarterly.

She first won notoriety by going undercover as a Playboy Bunny in 1963 for an exposé that made her famous, and later co-founded the National Women's Political Caucus.
