Pentagon Investigates UAP Incident off Virginia Coast

A new Pentagon report says U.S. Navy assets off Virginia’s coast encountered one maritime incident involving about 100 airborne unidentified anomalous phenomena and two likely uncrewed surface systems.

The incident was the report’s only maritime-domain case and remains under investigation. The Pentagon released no details about when it occurred or how the objects behaved.

Investigators resolved 114 of 319 reports as balloons, birds, satellites, aircraft, drones, or other ordinary objects. Another 191 lacked enough data for conclusions, nine went to intelligence and science partners for deeper analysis, and three more are recommended for closure.

Groundwater Study Warns of Declines

A long-delayed state study found groundwater supplies in eastern Virginia are constrained and projected to decline as population growth and industrial demand increase.

The report did not blame data centers for current aquifer concerns but said water-cooled facilities may struggle to secure reliable groundwater under existing conditions.

Researchers recommended stronger authority over groundwater withdrawal permits, alternative-source reviews, and better water-use planning. Spanberger's office said she's committed to working with lawmakers to evaluate the findings.

Greystar Accused of Voucher Discrimination

Civil rights complaints filed in Virginia and several other states allege that Greystar, a national apartment management company, broke fair housing laws by turning away renters who use housing vouchers.

The nonprofit Housing Rights Initiative used undercover callers posing as voucher holders and found more than 100 apparent violations at Greystar properties in Virginia, Maryland, Hawaii, New Jersey, Michigan, California and, Washington, D.C. Virginia law generally requires landlords to accept vouchers unless they own fewer than four properties.

Greystar, which didn't respond to a request for comment, settled a $24 million lawsuit with the Federal Trade Commission and Colorado last December over deceptive rent pricing.
