Intel Weighs Ohio Plant Partner

Intel is considering a partner to help operate its $28 billion semiconductor campus in Licking County, a move that could speed construction on the long-delayed project.

U.S. Sen. Jon Husted, R-Ohio, said Intel told him it has a “potential partner.” SK Hynix has reportedly been linked to the project, although the South Korean chipmaker denied reports that it planned to buy the campus.

The discussions remain preliminary, with no formal negotiations underway. Intel declined to address the speculation but said it remains committed to Ohio and continues preparing the New Albany site.

Intel broke ground in 2022, but the project is now years behind its original schedule. Husted said a partner could spur demand for additional fabrication plants.

Floodgate Failure May Have Worsened Flooding

A mechanical malfunction kept Cincinnati's Duck Creek floodgate from closing automatically during last week's flash flooding, potentially compounding damage near Madison Road.

City officials said the gate should’ve closed automatically but can be closed only manually in its current condition. Officials said that severe flooding still would have occurred elsewhere after some neighborhoods received 5 to 6 inches of rain in about an hour.

Cincinnati is consulting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, considering manual operation until repairs are completed, and helping residents document damage and seek recovery assistance.

Garrett Lists $2.1 Million Mansion

Former Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett has listed his Wadsworth-area mansion for $2.1 million following his trade to the Los Angeles Rams.

Built in 2018, the 4,300-square-foot home sits on 2 acres in the Hidden Lakes of Sharon community. It has five bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms, and attached and detached garages with room for seven vehicles.

The luxury listing features a theater, custom bar, fitness room, executive office, oversized deck, built-in grill, and fire pit. Some furnishings and professional-grade gym equipment may be included in the sale.

In his final season with Cleveland, Garrett set the NFL single-season sack record.
