Amazon withdrew from the proposed Project Blue data center in Tucson, leaving the project's future uncertain.

The proposal faced public criticism and was unanimously rejected by Tucson City Council over concerns about water use, energy demand, and transparency.

Project developer Beale Infrastructure subsequently switched from water-based to electric cooling, a method reportedly incompatible with Amazon's operations.

Pima County officials say seven or eight other prospective end-user tenants are showing interest in the project. The county sold the 290-acre site to Beale in June 2025 and retains oversight on development.

It's a chilling thought: how easily can a stranger find where you live?

For most people, it takes less than 30 seconds. Data brokers are companies that legally scrape public records, social media, and other sources to build a profile on you. This profile—which includes your home address, phone number, and even your relatives' names—is then sold to anyone.

This makes it dangerously easy for stalkers, harassers, or anyone angry about your opinions to find you.

Article Icon 1Trump Defends Peters, Slams Polis

President Trump took to social media Wednesday to criticize Gov. Jared Polis and repeat his call for the release of former county election clerk Tina Peters from state prison.

In a Truth Social post, Trump described Peters as an elderly woman and cancer survivor who was unfairly convicted of election interference, and called Polis a "SLEAZEBAG" for refusing to let her out of jail.

Peters, 70, renewed her request to be released on bond Saturday after learning her 97-year-old mother "suffered catastrophic, life-threatening injuries" and is in intensive care.

State prison officials last month rejected a request from the Federal Bureau of Prisons to transfer Peters to federal custody. Polis affirmed that decision this week.

Article Icon 1Wildfire Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

A Loveland man accused of starting the Alexander Mountain Fire and impersonating a wildland firefighter in the aftermath pleaded not guilty to all charges Wednesday.

Jason Alexander Hobby, 50, was arrested in September 2024 for allegedly igniting the fire, which burned nearly 10,000 acres in Larimer County. The fire caused more than $30 million in damage, with firefighting efforts costing an additional $11 million, according to court documents.

Investigators found Hobby had impersonated a police officer and firefighter before and during the fire, entering restricted areas to assist firefighting efforts. His arrest affidavit states he acted as a "self-proclaimed fire manager" and wanted to be seen as a hero.

Hobby's six charges include first-degree arson and impersonating a peace officer, both felonies. His trial is scheduled to begin in July 2026.

Colorado's drivers are some of the safest in the nation, ranking No. 3 with only 23.7 incidents—accidents, DUIs, speeding, or citations—per 1,000 drivers in 2025, according to a new report.

Trailing only Florida (23.1) and Michigan (20.9), Colorado also has the second-lowest accident rate and one of the lowest DUI rates. North Dakota's drivers rank worst overall. See a map here.

A separate report found that Colorado is the No. 8 most dangerous state for winter driving, scoring 49.7 out of 100 based on fatal-crash data.
