Job Growth to Outpace U.S.

Arizona's rate of job growth is projected to outpace the U.S. over the next decade, according to the state Office of Economic Opportunity.

Led by the healthcare and social assistance sectors, employment in the state is forecast to grow 1.2% a year, compared with 0.3% nationally.

Most of Arizona's new jobs—370,000 of the 450,000 anticipated by 2034—will come in Maricopa County, forecasters said.

At least some job growth is expected in all 15 counties.
