We started running together a few years ago, and it quickly became a tradition. We sign up for races as a team, pushing each other to improve and meet our goals. Our first big race was a local 5K when I was 8 years old and while it seemed daunting at the time, finishing that race together gave us a huge sense of accomplishment. Since then, we've participated in several races, including 10Ks and half marathons. It's always exciting to stand at the starting line with my dad, knowing that we've put in the hard work and are ready to tackle the challenge ahead.
One of the things I love most about running with my dad is the sense of teamwork. Even though running is often seen as a chore activity, when we run together, it feels like we are a team. We keep each other motivated, whether it's during early morning training runs or during the toughest parts of a race when we're both feeling tired. Crossing the finish line together is always a rewarding experience. My favorite race we have done is the Falmouth Road race which we ran in august and are going to run again in November!
Running with my dad isn't just a hobby; it's a meaningful part of my life. It's something that has strengthened our relationship and created lasting memories that I will always cherish.
