The fact that I still keep writing these NHL blogs every day is kind of mind blowing at this point. Last night I ran into more bad luck on the Panthers in regulation (they won anyway obviously) and Bertuzzi hitting the pipe with 2 seconds left to not hit the Leafs over. I finished the night 4-4, losing 0.92 units. Tonight we have just three games before a big weekend. Let's finally get some wins to start March hot.
Terrible matchup here between two bad teams. The Sens haven't been a good team, playing pretty lousy hockey especially defensively. The Coyotes, who are in the second half of a back to back after a 4-2 loss in Toronto last night (I still can't believe I didn't hit that over), have been even worse, coming into tonight's game on now a 14 game losing streak. They've been brutal on both ends of the ice. Arizona won the first game between these teams 4-3 at home in December. Especially on the second half of a back to back, I expect a Sens win here to answer back and I'll lay the juice on them for half a unit. I considered their team total instead, but I think the right move here is just keeping it simple and sticking with the ML. I'd lean the over, but not enough to bet it.
Capitals vs. Flyers (7:00)
This is a pretty interesting Metro Division matchup here. The Flyers, coming off a big 6-2 win against the Lightning, have had a good season, but they haven't played well recently. The Caps are playing better lately, but are still quite a bit outside of the Wild Card in the East. The first game between these teams needed a shootout with the Flyers winning 4-3 at home. I'd lean they win again here on the road and would slightly lean the over, but I don't see enough of an edge to bet anything on this game, so I'll lay off it completely.
Ducks vs. Devils (10:00)
Shitty matchup to close out the night. Both of these teams have played pretty lousy this year and both come into tonight off high scoring wins in San Jose. The Devils are the far better team in this matchup, especially offensively. The Ducks won the first game between them 5-1 on the road. I'd expect Jersey to answer back with a win here, but in no way are they worth -280 on the road. I'll go back to the same play I cashed easily on the Devils on Tuesday and I'll take their team total over 3.5 for half a unit. I'd lean the over but not enough to bet it.
