On Saturday, No. 10 Ole Miss (6-2) hit the road for a game against No. 18 Auburn (6-2). The top-25 matchup took place at Jordan-Hare Stadium, a venue that is no stranger to such big games.

Both teams are led by great quarterbacks. Ole Miss has Heisman hopeful Matt Corral under center, while Auburn has hometown boy Bo Nix. Before the game started, experts believed the team with the better QB performance would win. That is exactly what happened.

Nix played great in front of his home crowd and the Auburn defense was able to step up and somewhat neutralize Corral. Auburn would hold on to defeat Ole Miss 31-20.

Ole Miss had plenty of chances in this game. They had four chances to score in the second half. Three of their opportunities were stopped with failed fourth-down passes. The fourth ended with an interception thrown in the endzone.

They would get the ball down to the 18-yard line in the fourth, but could not convert a fourth and three. The failed fourth-down conversion basically ended the game and secured the win for Auburn.

QB Battle at Jordan-Hare

All eyes were on the quarterbacks on Saturday night at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

There was no doubt the quarterback duel was won by Bo Nix. Nix completed 22-of-30 passes for 276 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 30 yards and two scores on the ground. It was yet another fantastic performance from Nix in a big game.

Nix had help in the form of Tank Bigsby. Bigsby ran for 140 yards and a touchdown.

Corral went 21-37 for 289 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The Auburn defense held Corral without a passing touchdown; before Saturday's game, Corral had thrown at least a touchdown in 19 straight games. Corral also threw just his second interception of the season.

The Ole Miss quarterback left the game with an apparent left ankle injury in the first quarter but would return to the game.

Corral's help came in the form of Jahcour Pearson. Pearson caught 7 passes for 135 yards. Ole Miss' No. 2 receiver Braylon Sanders was held without a catch.
