Early voting opens today across all 159 Georgia counties, giving voters a head start ahead of Election Day for the primary runoffs on June 16.

In some counties, early voting began Friday and Saturday. Unlike on Election Day, you can vote early at any voting location in your county.

Early voting runs through Friday. You can check the Georgia Secretary of State’s website here or your county election page for exact locations and times.

Last month, more than 1 million people cast their ballots early in the May 19 primary, or about 14% of the state's active voters, according to the secretary of state's office.

Georgia advanced to the College World Series for the first time in 18 years with an 11-9 victory over Mississippi State in 10 innings Sunday at Foley Field in Athens.

Daniel Jackson provided a two-run home run in the 10th inning, sending the Bulldogs on to the next round after a back-and-forth Super Regional matchup between the SEC rivals.

The eight-team College World Series will open play on Friday in Omaha, Nebraska, with games telecast on ESPN. Georgia enters the series as the highest remaining seed.

The Bulldogs joined North Carolina, West Virginia, Ole Miss, and Troy in the national championship bracket as of Sunday afternoon, ahead of other qualifying games through today.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off Thursday in Mexico City, with the first match in Atlanta set for Monday when Spain plays Cape Verde.

Local and state leaders view Atlanta's selection as one of 16 host cities as an economic boon and also recognition of the area's emergence as a national hub for soccer.

Metro Atlanta hotels report near-full occupancy for match days but uneven bookings otherwise. Restaurants are gearing up for large crowds and starting to offer specials.

Battery Atlanta will host free watch parties on its Plaza Green throughout the tournament. The Centennial Olympic Park fan festival hub finishes construction this week and will open to the public ahead of Atlanta’s first match.
