Former Atlanta Braves manager and Hall of Famer Bobby Cox died at 84, the team announced Saturday. Cox won more than 2,500 games during his managerial career and led Atlanta to the 1995 World Series title.

Cox first managed Atlanta from 1978 to 1981 and returned to the dugout in 1990, guiding the Braves to 14 consecutive division titles and five National League pennants before retiring in 2010.

Cox finished with the fourth-most managerial wins in MLB history and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown in 2014. He was a four-time Manager of the Year, winning the award three times with Atlanta.

The Braves said in a statement, "We are overcome with emotion on the passing of Bobby Cox, our treasured skipper. Bobby was the best manager to ever wear a Braves uniform,” adding that his “Braves managerial legacy will never be matched.”

16-year-old Benjamin Brathwaite was found safe more than a week after he was reported missing.

Brathwaite, a student and basketball player at KIPP Atlanta Collegiate, was reported missing after he disappeared from his Atlanta neighborhood on April 27 without his cellphone or wallet, family members said.

A tip received by the family helped lead them to him.

The search had drawn broad community support, with law enforcement, neighbors, local organizations, and social media users joining the effort to bring him home.

Cohutta's police force got their jobs back on Friday, two days after Mayor Ron Shinnick fired all ten employees.

The Cohutta Town Council voted to reinstate the officers and provide them with back pay during a special meeting.

Shinnick said the terminations were connected to comments the officers made on social media.

While the department was dissolved, the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office had said its deputies would help the townspeople if needed.

The Flyover

This year’s National Memorial Day Parade, hosted by Honorary Grand Marshal Gary Sinise, is set to be the largest in its history. It stands as a powerful tribute to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedoms.

What makes this event even more meaningful is how it is funded. The American Veterans Center receives no federal funding for the parade. It is made possible entirely by private citizens who believe in honoring those who served.

Your support helps bring this national moment of remembrance to life while also funding year-round efforts to preserve veterans’ stories, educate future generations, and produce documentaries that highlight the true cost of freedom.

If honoring our veterans matters to you, this is a meaningful way to take part.
