The redevelopment of the 113-acre campus would include a new stadium, hotels, housing, retail, and new academic facilities for the college. The agreement does not finalize financing, design, or construction timelines, but allows negotiations to move forward. Hillsborough College would retain a portion of the property, referred to as the College District, for newly built academic facilities, while the remaining land would be leased to the Rays for at least 99 years. The campus is located near Tampa International Airport, across from Raymond James Stadium. It sits south of George M. Steinbrenner Field, the New York Yankees' spring training facility that served as the Tampa Bay Rays' temporary home last year while Tropicana Field was unavailable. | Woman Sues IVF Clinic After Birthing Wrong Baby A 41-year-old Florida mother is suing an IVF clinic after giving birth last month to someone else's biological child in an embryo mix-up. Jane Doe had an embryo implanted with what she believed to be her and her husband's genetic material. She successfully gave birth to a baby girl. While both the woman and her partner are white, the baby is "very dark-skinned" and appears to be of Asian American descent. Genetic testing confirmed that the newborn has no biological relationship to either parent. | Florida Tops 2026 Startup Ranking Florida ranked No. 1 in a new WalletHub study that compared all 50 states across 25 key indicators of startup success to determine the most fertile environments for launching and growing a business.
