Democrat AG Candidate Threatens to 'Kill Donald Trump'

In a video posted on social media, Elliot Forhan—a Democrat candidate for Ohio attorney general—said he was "going to kill Donald Trump" by securing a conviction and pursuing the death penalty.

State Auditor Keith Faber, the Republican candidate for attorney general, condemned the post, as did current Attorney General Dave Yost. Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said that Ohio Democrats "implicitly endorse" Forhan's remarks.

Forhan previously served in the Ohio House, but after reported altercations with fellow lawmakers and a dispute with a constituent, he lost committee assignments and access to the Statehouse.

In September, Forhan drew attention after posting profane comments about conservative activist Charlie Kirk after Kirk was assassinated. Forhan has also called for prosecuting members of the Trump administration and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Ohio Charity Preps Southern Storm Relief

Blue Ash-based charity Matthew 25: Ministries will head south to Oxford, Mississippi, once travel conditions are deemed safe, to help southern states recover from last weekend's devastating winter storm.

At least 35 deaths have been confirmed from the storm, including at least four in Mississippi. Parts of the South saw more than an inch of ice, triggering about 300,000 power outages in Mississippi alone.

Matthew 25: Ministries will work with Procter & Gamble and Walmart to deploy disaster relief services, including a mobile laundry unit, a mobile shower unit, a battery and phone-charging truck, and a truck carrying first aid kits.

The charity is accepting monetary donations online, along with donations of bottled water, baby supplies, and other critical items at 11060 Kenwood Road in Blue Ash.

Court Upholds Zoo Safety Surcharge

A Delaware County judge ruled that the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium isn't exempt from a new state law that allows local governments to collect up to $1 per ticket to offset public safety costs.

Liberty Township had voted to charge a $1 fee to help recover the cost of fire and emergency runs to the zoo, though officials later lowered it to 75 cents. The zoo argued in court that House Bill 315—aimed at venues drawing at least 2,000 attendees—didn't apply.

In 2024, Liberty Township spent $261,000 responding to calls at the zoo. A $1 fee would be expected to generate up to $2 million a year for the township, according to the zoo.

Last Friday, Liberty Township continued posting about the cost of emergency services sent to the zoo, including a meme of a giraffe in a Columbus Zoo shirt telling a waiter to put the bill on the taxpayers' tab.
