Most People Miss This

We want to be very straightforward with The Flyover readers.

In the final days of an investment round, almost everyone is paying attention—but very few people are still able to act.

Just days ago, we announced there are 10 days left to invest in The Flyover. Today, that window is even smaller.

With roughly 15% of shares remaining, we are now in the final allocation phase of this round.

This is the part most people miss.

Not because they don't believe in the company.
Not because they don't support the mission.
But because they assume there will be more time.

There won't be.

Once the remaining shares are allocated, this round closes—regardless of the calendar.
No extensions.
No reopening.
No second chance.

What makes this moment different isn't persuasion—it's availability.

The Flyover is already what most media startups never become:

  • Profitable
  • Growing rapidly
  • Trusted by millions of readers and viewers
  • Built without corporate sponsorship or political donors

That part isn't theoretical. It's already true.

What is still optional—for a very short time—is whether you are an owner as the next phase of growth happens.

We are actively expanding:

  • Into more states
  • Into deeper audio and video
  • Into products like texting and The Flyover app
  • Into a larger, more durable media company built for the long term

Those plans are being funded right now.

The only remaining question is who is still able to participate before this round closes.

If you've been waiting for a clearer signal—this is it.

With roughly 15% of shares remaining, this is the final allocation window.

Once they're gone, there are no more shares in this offering.

The Roundup

Article Icon 1Fern Causes Collisions, Cancellations, Outages

Winter Storm Fern caused hundreds of collisions, thousands of power outages, and widespread flight cancellations over the weekend. The storm also prompted multiple school districts, including Wake, Charlotte-Mecklenburg, and Winston-Salem/Forsyth County, to either switch to remote learning or cancel classes entirely today.

Ice-coated roads are delaying the effectiveness of the salt and brine that NCDOT crews applied in advance. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to 207 collisions and 265 calls for service between 6 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday alone.

Just under 28,000 power outages were reported by Duke Energy, Dominion Energy, North Carolina Electric Cooperatives, and ElectriCities as of 6 p.m. on Sunday, with roughly 41% of them in Henderson County, according to ReadyNC.gov.

The airports were also in disarray. More than 1,100 flight cancellations were reported at Charlotte Douglas, and around 360 had been canceled at Raleigh-Durham International Airport as of Sunday afternoon, according to FlightAware.

Article Icon 1UNC System Considers $49M Tuition Increase

The UNC System is considering tuition and fee increases for the 2026-27 academic year that would generate $49 million in additional revenue across its 16 campuses. Proposals will advance to the Board of Governors for review on Wednesday.

The plan includes an average in-state undergraduate tuition hike of $125 per student, with UNC-Chapel Hill and NC State proposing the largest increases: a $211 rise to $7,230 for incoming students at UNC-Chapel Hill, and a $196 rise to $6,731 at NC State.

Out-of-state undergraduates face steeper increases, averaging 4.3%, excluding the four NC Promise Schools—Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University, UNC-Pembroke, and Western Carolina University—which will increase tuition from $5,000 to $7,000, as dictated by state law.

UNC-Chapel Hill and UNC-Charlotte have proposed 10% increases for out-of-state students. A full vote is expected in February.

Article Icon 1Lumbee Tribe Buys Land for Potential Casino

The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina has acquired 241 acres in Robeson County near Exit 10 off I-95, positioning it as a potential site for a casino and resort.

Brokered by Lumbee Tribal Holdings, the purchase follows the tribe's full federal recognition in December, which opens pathways for economic development, including gaming under federal law.

The tribe is preparing its first land-into-trust application to place the property and other assets, such as its cultural center, under federal protection.

A final decision on casino development will be voted on by Lumbee citizens, who number approximately 55,000. If the tribe votes against pursuing the casino, the site could be developed into a business and industrial park.
