A federal appeals court revived Georgia's ban on passing out food and drinks to voters in line, ordering a federal district judge to reconsider his 2023 ruling against the ban.

The provision, part of the state's 2021 election overhaul, had been on hold while a lawsuit worked through the courts.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger praised the appeals court's decision, saying it reaffirmed the state's ability to protect voters from influence and interference at polling places.

Critics say the ban is discriminatory and a violation of free speech rights.

Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis of Nashville flipped his commitment from Georgia to hometown Vanderbilt ahead of college football's National Signing Day on Wednesday.

National Signing Day is the first day high schoolers and college transfers can formally commit to their chosen schools. Valdosta High School reported a school record five Division 1 signings.

For UGA, Curtis' switch left the program without a quarterback in its 2026 recruiting class going into signing day. You can find a roundup of the Bulldogs' signings here.

Georgia Tech announced commitments from more than 10 players. Kennesaw State and other colleges also announced their newest football recruits.
