Marjorie Taylor Greene to Leave Congress

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene announced that she will resign from Congress, effective Jan. 5, 2026.

In explaining her decision, Greene cited multiple factors, including frustration with her party and the way Congress is operating.

"I'm going back to the people I love, to live life to the fullest as I always have, and look forward to a new path ahead," Greene said.

The announcement comes shortly after the president withdrew his endorsement of Greene amid an ongoing feud centered on the release of the Epstein files.

President Trump called her resignation "great news for the country."

Man Sentenced to Life for Murder of Neighbors

Matthew Lanz was sentenced to two life sentences without the possibility of parole after being found guilty of murdering his neighbors, Justin and Amber Hicks, in their Cobb County home in 2021.

In October, a judge ruled Lanz competent to stand trial. The determination of Lanz's mental competence long delayed the trial.

Lanz was found guilty on all 13 charges: two counts of malice murder, home invasion, four counts of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, second-degree cruelty to children, and tampering with evidence.

Lanz was arrested two days following the murders after he stabbed a Sandy Springs officer during a burglary; Lanz was also shot by police in that incident.

Millions Expected at Airport for Thanksgiving Travel

More than 4 million passengers are expected to pass through Hartsfield‑Jackson Atlanta International Airport during the Thanksgiving travel period between Nov. 20 and Dec. 2.

According to officials, that estimation is lower than last year due to the recently concluded government shutdown.

The American Automobile Association (AAA) predicts more Georgians will travel by road than by air this year.

Dec. 1 is projected to be the airport's busiest day of the period, with a projected 375,000 travelers.
