This could be the last one of these blogs of the season with the Stanley Cup in the building in Edmonton tonight and a 3-0 series lead for the Panthers, coming off their 4-3 win on the road in Game 3 on Thursday night. I went 1-2 on that game, losing 1.9 units. Let's bounce back tonight as Florida looks to lift the Cup with a sweep!
The Panthers are a win away from lifting Lord Stanley tonight. Coming off a huge three goal second period in Game 3, scoring three straight in 6:19 to go up 4-1, they rode that lead to a 4-3 victory on the road in Game 3 to go up 3-0 in the series. In Game 3, the Oilers outshot Florida 35-23 but were outplayed by an expected goal rate of 4.48-3.64 in the loss. That ended up becoming the closest game of the series after the Oilers were the much better team in Game 1 yet lost 3-0 and the Panthers completely dominated their way to a 4-1 win in Game 2. This series is easily over in five games. I'd expect Florida to finish off the sweep and lift the Cup tonight at home, but that's very tough to do, especially on the road. I already win two units on my series bet and I'll double down on the Panthers tonight for a unit. If they lose tonight I'm absolutely HAMMERING them in Game 5 on Tuesday night. I considered their team total, but I think I like the moneyline better, since I don't think Bobrovsky gives up more than three goals. On the other side, McDavid absolutely needs to lead the Oilers tonight. Although he only has two assists in this series, he's been peppering shots. In Game 1 he had six, Game 2 he was a shot short of hitting his total, and Game 3 he had five, cashing his shot prop in the second period. I'll jump right on that again as he tries to avoid elimination tonight and take McDavid over 3.5 shots on goal for a unit. I'd lean the under here, but with the insanity at the end of elimination games, I'll stay off the total tonight.
