Happy Easter! I went 5-6 on yesterday's huge 15 game NHL slate, losing 2.17 units, mostly on the Blues' loss to the Sharks. After that big slate, today we have just one game. I have two plays, let's win them both!
Huge mismatch in the Pacific between one of the best teams in the NHL vs. one of the worst. The Canucks were one of just two teams in the league that weren't in action yesterday. They comfortably lead the Pacific Division, but come off two losses in a row, after a 3-1 loss to the Western Conference leading Stars on Thursday night (win for me). Even with star goaltender Thatcher Demko on the LTIR, Vancouver's still played really well on both ends of the ice. The Ducks on the other hand are one of the worst teams in the league. They're in the second half of a back to back, coming off a 6-1 blowout loss in Edmonton yesterday afternoon to extend their losing streak to four straight and they've only picked up one win in their last twelve games. As expected, Vancouver won both games between these teams earlier this season, winning 3-1 at home in November and 2-1 on the road early this month. They should easily complete the season sweep today. The prices on this game are insane though, with the moneyline at -485, but I'll take their puck line for a unit. I'll also take their team total over 4 for half a unit. I'd lean the over, with Vancouver having the ability to hit that on their own, but I'll just stick to their side.
