2 months ago today, I posted a blog talking about University. Since then, I have been offered places at all three of my choices but have rejected them all and accepted a job role as a Greenkeeper. Let me explain...
Ever since I submitted my application for University back in January, I was in constant conflict with myself about whether or not I actually wanted to go. After really evaluating reasons for and against putting myself in £30.000+ of debt, and not earning a respectable income until I am 25 for a degree which I don't need, I decided that it was not the right decision for me.
No matter where my mind went, it always went back to the excitement of joining a Sports team and making friends at University. I was in a place where I didn't have a lot going for me, and I was just a bit frustrated with myself and how seemingly little I have made for myself at that point in my life. For now, however, I have decided that going to University isn't the right decision for me, as I applied for the wrong reasons, and I can see myself being a lot happier without.
So I'm starting a new job in May as a Greenkeeper. Thanks to my experience as a Greenkeeper, I was able to secure this job which will provide me with a steady stream of income, whilst being active and working outside!
