Originally scheduled to fight Nassourdine Imavov next weekend, visa issues forced Imavov to withdraw from the card.

In Imavov's place, du Plessis stepped up. However, it's been confirmed via multiple sources that Gastelum has been removed from the card due to an injury.

Following Kelvin's injury, du Plessis has also been removed from next weekend's PPV event.

Currently 1-4 in his last five professional outings, Gastelum is coming off of back to back defeats to Robert Whittaker and Jared Cannonier.

As for du Plessis, Dricus is 2-0 since signing with the promotion and has two knockout finishes under his belt.

UFC 273 is set to take place on April 9 at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville. The card will be headlined by a featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Chan Sung Jung. The co-main event sees a bantamweight rematch between champion Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan. Also, a welterweight bout between Gilbert Burns and Khamzat Chimaev is set to take place on the main card.
