ARLINGTON TX- The Arizona Cardinals hit the road for the ninth time this season to face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Arizona is at their best on the road this season with a record of 7-1. Riding a four-game losing streak, Arizona looks to avoid falling a fifth straight game. Dallas entered on a four-game win streak, following a season-best performance in a 56-14 beatdown of the Washington Football Team.
Arizona's quarterback Kyler Murray stayed undefeated at AT&T Stadium as the Cardinals held off the Cowboys' comeback attempt to win 25-22. With the loss Dallas falls from the No. 2 seed to the No. 4 seed in the NFC while Arizona stayed locked in the No. 5 seed, setting up a possible rematch in just a few weeks.
Arizona looked to walk away with this one, building a comfortable 22-7 lead to the start of the fourth quarter. Dallas made it a game late, scoring twice in just over eight minutes. After electing not to challenge on a possible fumble from Chase Edmonds, the Cardinals were able to run out the clock and end their losing streak.
Kyler Murray completed 26 of his 38 passes for 263 yards and 2 touchdowns while adding another 44 yards on the ground. With the absence of star wideout DeAndre Hopkins, backups Christian Kirk and A.J. Green stepped up with 79 and 74 yards receiving respectively. No James Connor meant more touches for Chase Edmonds as he picked up 18 carries for 53 yards adding another 5 catches for 29 yards.
It was a slow start for Dallas but they made things close in the final quarter. Dak Prescott completed 24 of his 38 passes for 226 yards and 3 touchdowns, adding another 20 yards on the ground. Dalton Schultz led all receivers with 6 catches for 54 yards. Ezekial Elliott continued to struggle, rushing for a season-low 16 yards on 9 carries.
Dallas' Offensive Struggles Continue
After a hot start offensively to begin the season, the Dallas offense has hit a cold streak. Dak Prescott has struggled mightily even in the Cowboys four-game win streak. Prior to his four-touchdown performance against Washington, Prescott had thrown only 3 touchdowns compared to 4 total turnovers.
Prescott struggled for majority of the game on Sunday as Arizona held the Dallas offense to only 7 points at halftime. Dallas was held to 0 passing yards until 3:35 left in the third quarter. The Cowboys' offense finally got going in the final quarter to make things closer, but still fell short.
