LAS VEGAS, Nev. - A dominant victory for the Kansas City Chiefs (6-3) on Sunday night helped them climb to the top of the AFC West and take first place in the division. The Chiefs knocked off the Las Vegas Raiders (5-4) from the top as they swept them on the road 41-14.

The Chiefs would walk into this matchup a different team. With 19 total turnovers to enter the game (the highest in the NFL) the Chiefs flipped the switch, only coughing up one turnover. The Chiefs played a more complete and clean game, something KC fans are more used to seeing.

The Raiders came into this one off a loss to the Giants; they now leave on a two-game losing streak. In what was a close first half, the game completely got away from Las Vegas in a moment's notice as Andy Reid's Chiefs got into a rhythm.

The Return of Old Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs looked like the team that made back-to-back Super Bowls on Sunday night. The Chiefs had 516 total yards of offense with 406 yards and 5 touchdowns from Mahomes.

Running back Darrel Williams had 144 yards from scrimmage, finishing with 9 receptions and one touchdown. Tight end Travis Kelce had 8 rec for 119 yds and wide receiver Tyreek Hill Had 2 TDs on 7 rec for 83 yds.

The Defense even had 3 takeaways after weeks of struggle to begin the season.

With the Chiefs back on top of the AFC West and on a three-game winning streak, they may be hitting their stride at just the right time.

Las Vegas Slip

The matchup with the Chiefs turned into an absolute disaster for the Raiders as they just couldn't figure out the Chiefs on Sunday night.

Running Back Josh Jacobs could not get going at all and ended the game with just 16 rush yards.

Even when the Raiders looked like they were hitting their mark, it would be set back by plays like a Desean Jackson fumble which was deflating for the offense.

At the end of the first half, Las Vegas recorded only 82 yards of offense. With too many three and outs, the pressure from the Chiefs and the dominant play of Chris Jones and the defense line for KC, it proved just too much for Derek Carr and the Raiders.

The last AFC West crown for the Raiders was 2002 as they slip out of first place in the division, falling to third after a 3-0 start. Now, the Raiders have lost 4 of their last 6 with a two-game losing streak.

Coming Up

The Raiders will prepare for a disgruntled Cincinnati Bengals team who are also on a two-game losing streak.

The Chiefs face a strong Dallas Cowboys team with weapons all around and a much-improved defense. If the Chiefs want to continue the winning streak, they are going to have to play the way they played on Sunday night.
