Mike White Has Career Day in Debut
With rookie quarterback Zach Wilson out with an injury, Mike White would fill in as the starter in his absence. Boy, did he show up against a hot Cincinnati Bengals team. White completed 37 of his 45 passes for 405 yards three touchdowns and two interceptions. The Jets were in the game despite three first-half turnovers as they trailed by three at halftime. White led two big drives where he connected with Ty Johnson for a 19-yard touchdown pass and then connected with tight end Tyler Kroft for a 13-yard score and two-point conversion to complete the double-digit, fourth-quarter comeback against the Bengals on Sunday afternoon.

Bengals Miscues Lead to Second Half Collapse
After a momentum-shifting first half for the Bengals in which they forced three turnovers, you wouldn't expect the Bengals to be up just three points at the half. The running game slowed down in the second half as Joe Mixon was limited to just 33 yards on 14 carries. He did have a touchdown through the air.
The game-changing play came in the fourth quarter when Joe Burrow was hit and threw the ball into the hands of Jets defensive end Shaq Lawson. That ultimately led to the Jets scoring the game-winning touchdown on that drive. The trio of JaMarr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd all had at least three receptions, but the Bengals fell just short against the New York Jets.
Michael Carter Gets It Going After Slow Season Start
Michael Carter had an efficient day running the ball with 15 rushes on 77 yards and one touchdown. Carter also was leading his team in receiving yards as they had nine receptions for 95 yards. The fourth-round draft pick is starting to get it going after a slow start to the season. Carter has scored three touchdowns over the last four games and has complied 50 plus receiving yards the last two games.
With Corey Davis ruled out for this matchup, we did not know who the go-to guy for Mike White would really be. Sure enough, it was the man who stood right by his side taking handoffs from him. Carter has started to establish himself as a focal point to Jets' offense. Robert Saleh should look to feed the rookie more out of the backfield along with getting him involved in the passing game as they did in Sunday afternoon's win against the Bengals.
