UFC 267 will undoubtedly go down as one of the biggest events of the year. Every time the UFC heads to Fight Island, the company always deliver some incredible events.

The prelims caught the eye of many. Lerone Murphy secured a sensational knockout against Makwan Amirkhani, Albert Duraev, and Roman Kopylov put in a phenomenal display. As well as that, Zubaira Tukhugov impressed MMA fans as he defeated Ricardo Ramos. Finally, Amanda Ribas did enough to get the job done against Virna Jandiroba.

The main card saw so many highly anticipated fights. Magomed Ankalaev opened the main card with a dominant victory over Volkan Oezdemir. Khamzat Chimaev moved to 10-0 with a brilliant win over Li Jingliang.

Next up, the heavyweights were in action. Alexander Volkov defeated Marcin Tybura via a unanimous decision. Before the title fights, two top contenders at lightweight would face off.

Islam Makhachev was desperate to get a jaw-dropping win over Dan Hooker. It's fair to say that the Russian did just that, submitting 'Hangman' inside the first round.

Petr Yan became the new interim champion after beating Cory Sandhagen in an exceptional co-main event. Glover Teixeira submitted Jan Błachowicz to become the new light heavyweight champion.

One of the standout performers on the card was Islam Makhachev. Despite being a Russian native, Abu Dhabi is like a second home for Islam.

From the first bell, Islam was keen to get the fight to the mat. As soon as the opportunity was there, he took it with both hands. Eventually, Islam caught Hooker with a kimura.

In yet another dominant performance from Islam, what's next for the dangerous contender?

Next week, Justin Gaethje is set to face Michael Chandler. The winner of that fight is likely to face the winner of Charles Oliveira versus Dustin Poirier. Therefore, Islam may need one more fight before being able to call a title shot.

There's only one man that springs to mind, and that man is Beneil Dariush. Beneil is coming off an impressive win against Tony Ferguson and is also looking for a fight.

With some big lightweight fights in the coming months, Islam Makhachev vs Beneil Dariush is the fight to make.
