Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Props at weigh-ins are an interesting move. Yves Edwards used to bring snacks for his opponents and then kick their ass the next day; awesome! Henry Cejudo dressed up like a stage magician because Marlon Moraes appreciates alliteration and chose "Magic" as his nickname ... less awesome.

This story is a whole different level.

At the High League promotional event in Poland last weekend, former WBO boxing champion Ewa Brodnicka made her professional MMA debut. Boxing and MMA crossovers are hardly a headline at this point though — what makes this story interesting is Brodnicka's decision to a sex toy in the face of her opponent, Aniela Bogusz (h/t NY Times).

A bit perturbed, Bogusz chucked the dildo back in the face of her foe. The situation devolved farther, as a slap and front kick were exchanged before the two were separated. Check out the goofy video below:

Ultimately, Bogusz scored her revenge, securing a third-round stoppage via punches from the crucifix. Now undefeated at 3-0, perhaps Bogusz could find a home for her many talents at Fight Circus?

Keep it classy MMA — this isn't a Bills game!

The Return Of Shameless Self-Promotion

A bit over one week into awkwardly plugging myself, and I'd like to send a major thanks to the 56 (at this time of writing) people who have supported the cause. Glad to have you on the team, and there's still room on board!

As with all my pro fights, I raise funds to cover camp costs/actually make a profit via the fight banner. $5 or more gets your name/screen name/nickname on the fight banner, and it enters you into a raffle to win the banner itself. Payment options include venmo: AndyLRichardson (1572), PayPal, or the latest GoFundMe page. Complete details are HERE!

And, for those that don't care for my fight career and its associated e-begging, all the coming Midnight Manias will have the same amount of content as usual. Simply skip this section each night and it's like nothing happened!

I wonder what Diego Sanchez is up to?

UFC 269 is booking up quickly!

In classic UFC fashion, Al Iaquinta vs. Bobby Green was announced before it was a done deal.

No shock: Vicente Luque is still down to fight Nate Diaz!

Dillon Danis is pissing off people left and right as of late. I mean, that's not a new habit, but it's been especially bad in the last couple weeks.

Why is every unranked Lightweight match up so good? This is an incredible fight.

Impressive hip mobility results in piercing knees:

Slips, rips, and KO clips

Block the overhand, fire the left:

This Julian Jackson highlight was passed across my desk (thanks CB), and it's worth a watch!

A beautifully angled knee!

Midnight Music: For my readers who miss the rock-n-roll of yore, Sound & Color may be a good (relatively) recent to check out.

Sleep well Maniacs! More martial arts madness is always on the way.
