AEW Rampage came to us on Friday night from UMW Panther Arena in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Last week on Rampage, AEW produced quite possibly the biggest moment in the company's history when they introduced CM Punk. Tony Khan stated that this moment marked a new era for All Elite Wrestling, if numbers are any indication, AEW is most definitely trending in the right direction. While this week did not have the same amount of buzz as last week's show, there was a fun slate of matches. Let's take a look at the night's action.

AEW Tag Team Championship Number One Contender's Match

Lucha Brothers vs. Jurassic Express

Rampage opened up with action right away with a match to determine the next challengers for the Young Bucks and the AEW Tag Team Championships. Jurassic Express gained an early advantage when Jungle Boy utilized his athleticism to take control of Rey Fenix. Fenix battled back quickly and was able to take Jungle Boy to the mat. The two men had a faceoff before making the tag to their respective partners. The match broke down and all four competitors wound up down in the ring as the match went to a commercial break.

When the action resumed, Jungle Boy scored a near fall on Fenix. Fenix and Jungle Boy landed dual suicide dives on their opponents. The two men made tags and Luchasaurus quickly took over. The Lucha Brothers took advantage as Fenix scored a near fall on Luchasaurus. Luchasaurus made the tag to Jungle Boy and he scored a near fall after a Spikerana. Fenix landed an incredible Hurricanrana off the top rope and sent Jungle Boy flying into everyone at ringside. The Lucha Bros delivered a combination of Superkicks to Luchasaurus to score a near fall. They followed up with some more double team for the win. After the match, the Young Bucks attacked the Lucha Bros, but they were chased off by Jurassic Express.

Miro Addresses the AEW Fans

Tony Schiavone was in the ring and waiting to interview Miro. Miro's music hit and on his way to the ring, he sent Fuego Del Sol down the ramp with him. Miro tossed Fuego in the ring and grabbed the microphone. Miro ripped the mask off Fuego's face and dropped him with a superkick. He was then interrupted by the arrival of Eddie Kingston. Kingston opted not to say anything and went right after Miro. The two broke out into a fight and had to be separated by AEW officials. It's safe to say this won't be the last time we see those two men cross paths before their match at All Out.

The Bunny vs. Tay Conti

This past Wednesday on Dynamite, Tay Conti declined The Bunny's invitation the join the HFO (The Hardy Family Office). As a result, the two faced off against one another on Rampage. The Bunny attacked Conti before the match even began. This attack gave her an early advantage and she scored an early near fall. Conti attempted to battle back, but her rally was quickly snuffed out. Conti fought back and landed a combination of kicks to the Bunny. She was looking for the finish, but she was distracted by the arrival of Penelope Ford. With the referee distracted, The Bunny used brass knuckles to drop Conti for the win.

Kenny Omega & Brandon Cutler vs. Christian Cage & Frankie Kazarian

Before the match, the two teams were interviewed side by side by Mark Henry. Both Cage and Omega stated their case as to why they are going to win the AEW World Title match at All Out. Kazarian started the match against Cutler and quickly backed him into the corner. He landed a big combination that sent Cutler to the mat. Omega made the tag and pushed Kazarian into the corner and delivered a chop to his chest. Kazarian battled back and made the tag to Christian. Omega quickly tagged out, so he did not have to face Cage. Christian and Kazarian easily beat up on Cutler.

That was until Omega attacked Kazarian from behind outside of the ring. This allowed Cutler to make the tag to Omega. Omega and Cutler were able to isolate Kazarian from his corner for some time. Cutler became overconfident and Kazarian was able to make a tag. Christian Cage burst into the match and sent Omega running. He battered Cutler in the corner, but Omega attempted to attack him from behind. Cage countered and delivered punches to both men. Christian was setting up Cutler for the finish, but Omega pulled him into the ring post. Christian and Kazarian fought back, and Omega headed for higher ground. While staring down Omega, Christian landed the Killswitch on Cutler for the win.

Final Thoughts

With All Out just over a week away, the intensity is gearing up for the stacked card. Up to this point, Christian Cage has seemed to have Kenny Omega's number. Whether or not he can keep that going into their match for the AEW Championship remains to be seen. The next stop for AEW is Chicago. That's right AEW is headed back to Chicago for next week's shows after just being there last week for Rampage. CM Punk back in Chicago this Wednesday on Dynamite should prove to be must-watch TV. As always, keep it right here for everything AEW and Pro Wrestling.
