US and Iran Sign Iran War Deal

President Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian electronically signed the 14-point agreement to end the war on Wednesday, with Trump inking his copy at the Palace of Versailles over dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron.

The deal reopens the Strait of Hormuz, lifts sanctions, and ends the naval blockade, while Iran commits not to develop nuclear weapons and to dilute its enriched uranium under international supervision.

Both sides have 60 days to reach a final deal. Trump said the deadline isn't hard as long as Iran cooperates, but warned he'd resume bombing if it doesn't.

DC's Reflecting Pool Turns Green

National Park Service crews spent Tuesday pouring hydrogen peroxide into the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool after an algae bloom turned President Trump's promised "American flag blue" renovation bright green.

The bloom appeared days after a $14.2 million project to resurface the pool for the nation's 250th birthday. The Interior Department blamed "residual" algae from dormant supply lines.

Crews also deployed nanobubble ozone technology, scraped the bottom, and pumped cloudy water into storm drains.

Algae have plagued the 1920s-era pool for decades, surviving a $34 million overhaul in 2012. Read the historic coverage here.

Summer Cookout Bill Climbs to $161

Hosting 10 people for a backyard barbecue now runs about $161, up 2.4% from last summer, according to a new Wells Fargo report.

Beef is taking the biggest bite, with the average retail price for fresh beef hitting a record $9.64 a pound in April as the U.S. cattle herd sits at its lowest level in over seven decades.

The veggie tray is no bargain either, with fresh vegetables up nearly 12% over the past year and tomatoes alone up about 40%. Chicken and pork rose just 3%.

To trim costs, experts suggest scratch-made sides and asking guests to bring their own drinks, as overall inflation hit 4.2% in May, the highest in three years.
