A federal grand jury in Washington on Tuesday refused to indict six congressional Democrats, including Colorado's U.S. Rep. Jason Crow, for making a video in which they urged members of the military to resist "illegal orders."

The FBI opened an inquiry into the lawmakers after the video's release in November. President Trump, in a social media post, accused the group of "seditious behavior, punishable by death."

Besides Crow, lawmakers from New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Michigan appeared in the 90-second video. The Justice Department sought to charge the group under a military interference statute carrying a 10-year maximum prison sentence.

While such rejections are historically rare, grand juries in Washington have repeatedly declined indictments in recent months.

Article Icon 1Lawmakers Reject Vacancy Tax Bill

The House Finance Committee voted 7-4 Monday to defeat a bill that would have let local governments, with voter approval, establish vacancy taxes on often-empty homes.

Three Democrats sided with all four of the panel's Republicans in voting down the measure, which aimed to ease housing shortages in ski towns and resort communities where in some cases up to 40% or more of homes sit empty for much of the year.

Backers of the bill argued such homes generate less local sales tax revenue and could instead be rented to local workers. Realtors, homebuilders, and other opponents warned the tax could raise housing prices, pose administrative challenges, and invite litigation.

With the bill defeated, attention is expected to shift to a package of Democrat-sponsored proposals seeking to boost housing near transit and streamline affordable housing construction.

Article Icon 1Michelin Guide Expands Statewide

The Michelin Guide, a globally renowned restaurant evaluator, will expand to cover the entire state of Colorado in its upcoming 2026 selection.

The guide first came to Colorado in 2023, with exclusive three-year contracts to consider restaurants in Denver, Boulder, Aspen, Snowmass Village, Vail, and Beaver Creek. A single statewide deal has replaced those contracts, which expired this year.

Colorado currently has nine Michelin-starred restaurants—eight with one star and one with two. Last year, the Wolf's Tailor in Denver became the first two-star restaurant in the state.

Michelin's anonymous inspectors are already in the field, scouting new gems to promote "across the state, going beyond the main urban areas," according to a news release.
