A broken water main flooded Cleveland Clinic Akron General on Saturday, disrupting emergency services and diverting some patients.

The break happened around 4 a.m., across the street from the hospital's emergency department. Ambulances were diverted as crews pumped water out of the building.

Flooding also canceled all outpatient cardiac, radiation oncology, and radiology appointments scheduled for Saturday. Video of the incident can be seen here.

The emergency department reopened to ambulances on Sunday, but the hospital remained closed to general visitors, with limited exceptions.

Article Icon 1DeWine Warns Against Property Tax Repeal

Amid a growing effort to eliminate property taxes in Ohio, Gov. Mike DeWine warned the move could dramatically raise the state sales tax.

DeWine called eliminating property taxes "devastating" for schools, emergency services, and children's services. He added that the sales tax could climb as high as 20%.

Ohio's state sales tax is 5.75%, and the average combined state and local sales tax is 7.29%. The highest state sales tax in the U.S. is Louisiana's, at 10.11%.

Pointing to rising home prices and property taxes, the Committee to Abolish Ohio's Property Taxes has proposed a state constitutional amendment to eliminate property taxes. It requires just over 413,000 valid signatures of registered Ohio voters to appear on the November ballot.

Article Icon 1Clase Allegations Expanded to 48 Games

Cleveland Guardians pitcher Emmanuel Clase is accused of rigging pitch outcomes to benefit sports bettors in at least 48 games over a two-year period.

Clase and teammate Luis Ortiz were indicted in November on federal fraud, conspiracy, and bribery charges. Prosecutors initially accused Clase—an All-Star closer—of manipulating pitches in nine professional baseball games; Ortiz is accused of rigging pitches in two games in June 2025.

In a court filing, Ortiz's attorney said the government now accuses Clase of rigging outcomes in dozens more games than first alleged. The attorney argued Ortiz's case should be severed from Clase's because of "markedly different levels of culpability."

Clase appeared in 178 games for Cleveland from May 2023 to June 2025, the period tied to the alleged scheme.

3 Days Left: Invest in America's Trillion-Dollar Energy Comeback at $7.38/share

Under a White House that favors energy production on our home soil, Frontieras North America could unlock up to $2.1 Trillion in energy potential. They have the power to reform coal into high-value commodities like hydrogen and diesel without burning it.

But that's not even the best part. They're doing it in what was once the heart of American industry: Appalachia. Their new land purchase in Mason County, West Virginia, has earned praise from the state's Governor Morrisey for its potential to transform the region back into an energy powerhouse.

Here's why you shouldn't miss this last chance to invest at $7.38/share:

  • "FASF" ticker reserved on the NASDAQ

  • $850M flagship facility now being built

The Next $435B Energy Empire Is Being Minted

In today's dollars, John D. Rockefeller would be worth $435 billion. But "oil money" is old news, and what's next might surprise investors in 2026: a $2.1 Trillion opportunity in "clean" coal.

Now is the "Rockefeller" moment for Frontieras as they reform coal into hydrogen, diesel, and other valuable commodities (just like Rockefeller did with oil). With a White House that favors domestic energy, the NASDAQ ticker FASF reserved, and land officially purchased for its flagship coal reformation plant, Frontieras is positioned for potential valuation impact.
