| Murder Charges Filed in DPS Copter Crash The suspect in last week's gunfight with Flagstaff police has been charged with first-degree murder for the deaths of the Arizona Department of Public Safety pilot and paramedic whose helicopter crashed while responding to the scene. The suspect, Terrell Storey, 50, was charged with their deaths while in the commission of another crime, and also faces nearly 50 other felony counts stemming from the Feb. 4 neighborhood shootout some residents likened to a "war zone." Investigators said Storey, armed with a semi-automatic long rifle, exchanged gunfire with officers as the DPS helicopter provided air support before crashing. The cause of the crash remains under investigation and has not been linked to gunfire. The crash killed pilot Robert Skankey, 61, and paramedic Hunter Bennett, 28. Fundraisers in Phoenix, Flagstaff, and Kingman are taking place to support their families. | Gloves Tested for DNA in Guthrie Case Black gloves found near Nancy Guthrie's Catalina Foothills home underwent testing for DNA as investigators continued canvassing the neighborhood in the search for the missing 84-year-old. The case's latest developments follow Tuesday's release of doorbell footage showing a masked, armed man wearing gloves and a backpack tampering with the camera outside her home. Detectives asked residents within a two-mile radius to review and submit security footage from Jan. 1 to Feb. 2 for any unusual activity. | Bowie: Low-Cost Homes and Rambo A study found that the tiny Cochise County community of Bowie is Arizona's cheapest place to buy a house, with median home values of about $66,000 compared to the state's median price of about $447,000. With about 400 residents and a median household income of about $36,000, Bowie's rural setting, house sizes, limited services, and sparse housing inventory help keep home prices low. The unincorporated community is also known as the hometown of the fictional John Rambo in the Rambo films, a connection reflected in some local decor. The study used Zillow and U.S. Census data to identify each state's most affordable housing communities. | |
