Fans around the world turning in were thrilled to see a BJJ show capable of going so long without somebody saying or doing something gross toward or about women before the broadcast aired prior footage of host and organizer Craig Jones committing, or joking about how funny it would be to commit, sexual assault against his intergender match opponent Gabi Garcia. "Yeah, to be honest I still don't know if was really assault or just a classic Craig bit about how funny the rampant assault problem in BJJ is but either way, over 150 seconds without it," said purple belt Anika Stevenson. "Normally when I tune into an event it's right in my face immediately how many people in this sport don't care about me or other women, so to get a solid two minutes and change was a breath of fresh air." The non-consensual kiss/skit about a non-consensual kiss received heavy coverage and airtime with everyone on the broadcast being sure to pay the appropriately zero levels of attention to propriety or concerns about the countless BJJ bros who look up to and follow the lead of Jones seeing it and thinking it's okay, focusing instead on what this might mean for their respective headspaces going into a grappling match. One thing's for sure, with an all-time great women's match waiting on tonight's card to discuss first fans shouldn't be surprised if they reach upwards of the five minute mark this time | | | |
