Feels nuts that Jenn's season of the The Bachelorette is already at hometowns. She's down to her final four guys; Devin, Jonathan, Jeremy, and Marcus.
The first date is Houston for Devin's hometown, clearly the front runner. Devin starts the date making Jenn go on his weekly run club with him and a bunch of people. He introduces Jenn to his dog, which is obviously very important. Next they go meet Devin's family. Devin opens up to his parents that he's in love with Jenn but he's afraid to tell her that with the other three guys still involved. On his mom's porch afterwards, Devin tells Jenn he loves her, which thrills her. Clear cut front runner.
Jeremy, who had the last one on one date, gets the next hometown date in Fairfield, Connecticut. They start off their date going to Stew Leonards, a crazy grocery store. Pretty boring date but a fun way to see day to day life together. It doesn't go all that great meeting his family after, as Jeremy hasn't really talked to Jenn about his feelings for her and his sister even tells Jenn that she's not sure if he'll be ready for an engagement. Jeremy's mom also asks both of them a bunch of questions and is clearly skeptical with both of them. Afterwards, Jeremy tells Jenn that he is falling for her. You can obviously see though that the connection that the two of them have is significantly behind what she has with Devin.
Next it's off to San Diego for Jenn to meet Jonathan's family. I love their date as they go to the San Diego Seals outdoor lacrosse box where they have such a fun time since they both grew up playing. I'd imagine if I ever got on The Bachelorette, that would be the exact same thing I'd do for my hometown date. After getting urged on by his family, Jonathan opens up and tells Jenn that he's falling for her.
Marcus has the final hometown date as he takes Jenn to meet his sister and a bunch of his friends. Jenn voices her concerns that Marcus hasn't opened up to her about how she really feels about her. After the date, Marcus and Jenn both tell each other that they're falling for each other.
Before the rose ceremony, the four guys meet up for beers and catch up. Interesting to see each of their perspectives of their hometown dates. Devin, Jonathan, and Jeremy are all pretty confident after their hometowns, but Marcus still needs more clarity and isn't there yet of being able to get engaged.
Onto the rose ceremony. Devin very obviously gets the first rose. No question whatsoever that he's by far the front runner. Jonathan gets the second rose…and with the final rose tonight…
"Marcus, will you accept this rose"
I'm not totally surprised there with how Jeremy's family pushed so much back during his hometowns date, but I actually did sort of think she was picking him.
Kind of a boring episode of hometowns.
