Tonight the NHL season ends with the most incredible Game 7 on the Stanley Cup that I've ever seen. On Friday night, the Oilers erased a 3-0 series deficit with a 5-1 win in Game 6 at home. Tonight one of these teams will lift Lord Stanley in Florida. Let's end the year in incredible fashion!
Game 7 - Panthers vs. Oilers (8:00)
It all comes down to this. One game to win the Stanley Cup in the craziest finals I've ever seen. This has been incredible. Florida seemed to have this series locked up with a 3-0 series lead, but it's been a complete collapse for them since then, as they melted down and blew that lead to get to a single game to lift the Stanley Cup. The Oilers were just the third team ever to force Game 7 down 3-0, look to join 1942 Leafs as only Cup winners to do it. No matter what tonight is going to be incredible. Either we see the greatest comeback in NHL history, or we see a team come all the way back to force Game 7 just to lose. The Oilers after avoiding elimination in Game 4 with an 8-1 blowout at home and then taking it back to Edmonton with a 5-3 win in Game 5, forced Game 7 with a big 5-1 win in probably the most boring game of the series so far. They got out to a 2-0 lead, Florida scored to make it 2-1, but after review the play was determined to be offsides and was technically the right call but absolutely ridiculous that a tiny little hair of ice that makes it not count. Worst rule in hockey. If a goal isn't called offsides and isn't egregious, the call on the ice should just stand. Ridiculous. After that, Zach Hyman made it 3-0. Aleksander Barkov scored to make it a 3-1 game, but that was it for Florida and the Oilers capped off the game with two empty netters for the 5-1 victory. Both teams generated just 21 shots on goal. Prior to this series I put in a series play on the Panthers to win the Cup, but I'm buying out of that tonight. McDavid and the Oilers are winning the Stanley Cup tonight. I just don't see a way that Florida can find a way to bounce back from the emotional toll of blowing a 3-0 series lead in the Cup Finals. I'll take the Oilers to win tonight for 4 units, essentially making it a 1.5 unit bet with the buyout of my series play. To win the Stanley Cup, the best hockey player in the world is going to have to lead them. I'll take Connor McDavid to get over 1.5 points for half a unit along with him to record over 3.5 shots on goal for half a unit. Along with that, FanDuel has a boost on McDavid over 2.5 shots with the Oilers to win at +200, which I'll take for a unit. Game 7s always trend under with how locked in these teams are on every play and I like that to continue tonight, and I'll take the under for 1.5 units. This could be the greatest hockey game of all time and I can't fucking wait!
