After I crushed Friday night, losing day yesterday on the NHL Playoffs, getting reverse swept going 0-5 to lose 6.4 units as the Isles and Bolts held off elimination and I had 2 OTs not go my way. Today we have another big four game slate of Game 4s. Let's bounce back!
The Avs dominated Game 3 of this series at home on Friday night to take a 2-1 series lead with a 6-2 victory, outshooting the Jets 40-24 and a huge five goal third period. The goaltending continued to be a concern for the Jets, as the likely Vezina winner, Hellebuyck wasn't great again in goal. I have this series to go at least six games, which will cash with a Jets win in either today's game or Game 5, so I can essentially bet against that and try to win twice with Colorado today and then the Jets winning at home in Game 5. Colorado was the dominant team two games in a row now, and I like them to make this a 3-1 series at home in this matinee. I'll take the Avs ML and team total over 3.5 for a unit each, and the puck line and TT over 4.5 for half a unit each along with going right back to the over for 1.5 units.
Game 4 - Predators vs. Canucks (5:00)
Game 3 of this series in Smashville was SO boring on Friday night, with the Canucks winning 2-1 on the road to take back home ice and a 2-1 series lead. Vancouver had 30 blocked shots in Game 3 and only had 12 shots on goal, getting outshot 30-12 and scoring both of their goals on the power play. It's pretty concerning that the Preds couldn't win when they only gave up 12 shots, but I'll go back to them to even up this series at home before heading back to Vancouver for Game 5. I'll take the Preds moneyline for a unit and the puck line for half a unit. I'll go back to the under as well for a unit.
Game 4 - Capitals vs. Rangers (8:00)
I fully expect this series to be over tonight. I had two chances to cash in on a sweep yesterday with the Canes and the Panthers, both losing (heartbreaker to win huge for me on Carolina in double overtime), but I don't see the Capitals winning a game here. They don't belong on the same ice as the Rangers and even in their best efforts in Games 2 and 3, and the Rags not playing great in Game 1, they haven't even been able to tie up a game late. This series is done. I'll win 6.5 units with the Rangers ending this series, and I'll triple down on them today with another 2 units on them to get it done in regulation, with another half unit each on the puck line and their team total, both at + money and half a unit on the Caps team total under 2.5. I'd slightly lean the under on the game, but not enough to bet it.
Game 4 - Kings vs. Oilers (10:30)
After losing 5-4 in overtime at home in Game 2, the Oilers bounced back big with a very dominant Game 3 victory in LA, crushing the Kings 6-1. Really solid game for all the Edmonton stars leading the day, with multi-point games for McDavid, Draisaitl, Kane, Nugent-Hopkins, and Hyman. They outshot LA 40-28 and took back home ice in the series. I like the Oilers to win this one again on the road to take a 3-1 series lead back to Edmonton. I'll go with a unit each on the Oilers ML, team total over 3.5, and the over on the game, with half a unit on the Oilers puck line.
