Sabres vs. Senators (7:00)
Not a great matchup here between two of the worst teams in the Atlantic Division. Both of these teams stink. This will be the fourth and final game of the season between these teams. The Sabres are 2-1 in those games, all high scoring. We won 6-4 in the first game in Ottawa in October, lost 5-1 in Ottawa on New Year's Eve, and then won 5-3 at home in January. Coming off a boring 4-1 win in Calgary on Sunday night, we have five wins in our last eight games. The Sens have been awful, the worst team in the Atlantic, but come into tonight's game with two big wins in a row, beating the Oilers 5-3 on Sunday (a shocking loss for me) and the Devils 5-2 on Saturday. I'd lean the Sabres win this one again here, with the much better defense, but not enough to bet it. I'd also lean the over here, and really considered betting it, but with the way the Sabres have trended under with a lousy offense and UPL's incredible play in goal, I'll stay off this game entirely. Let's Go Buffalo!
Lightning vs. Bruins (7:30)
Great game tonight between these two Atlantic Division playoff teams. The Bruins are in the second half of a back to back tonight, coming off a 4-3 win in Florida last night, leading the Division and a point back from the Rangers for first place in the NHL. They can clinch a playoff spot with a win tonight. The Lightning are playing great right now. They're comfortably in the first Wild Card in the East, and although they needed overtime, screwing my regulation bet, they're coming off a 3-2 OT win in Anaheim on Sunday, extending their point streak to seven straight games (with six wins in that span). Tampa won two of the previous three games between these teams, needing overtime for both wins. They won the first game 5-4 in OT at home in November, lost 7-3 in Boston in January, and then won 3-2 in a shootout in February. With the B's in the second half of a back to back, I like the Lightning to win this game tonight and I'll take them for half a unit. I'd lean the over, but not enough to bet it.
