If there's any book I'd personally recommend, it's this one. "The Confident Mind" by Nate Zissner is a book that details the ways in which various athletes, businesspeople and champions within their field perceive confidence.
Lack of confidence has lost me many opportunities, and also put me in situations that would've been completely avoidable. This book shares tips and techniques on finding, building and maintaining confidence, and it was really exciting for me to learn various ways to develop my own.
My biggest takeaway from this book is I now know the importance of positive self talk and optimistic thinking. Before I thought that being positive during hard moments was just delusion, but I've found in my own experience that I feel the most confident and composed when I'm able to take a step back, count my blessings and approach whatever issue with a calm mind.
A method this book really dived deep into that I can't understate the important of is Visualization.
Visualization is basically your ability to create a mental movie in your head. If you have a good imagination, great! This is what is used to help create the ideal future you seek, and formulate your approach to life.
I personally use visualization myself a LOT, as it helps simulate opponents when I don't have access to any. Imagine being able to improve in whatever sport/hobby you partake in simply by thinking about it in a structured way…
We all have access to this power, and it's available and open to anyone who seeks it out. Again, I highly recommend you read this book, and as a side thought, give visualization a try, see if it can help you in any way.
