Oxford, MS - In a game dominated mainly by Ole Miss, Texas A&M sparked a comeback in the second half that fell short due to offensive mistakes late in the fourth quarter. In the end, the Rebels came out on top 29-19.

Ole Miss First-Half Dominance

The Rebels came out of the gate hot as their fast-tempo offense moved the ball down the field with ease. Heisman hopeful and Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral was having a field day, throwing for over 200 yards and completing 65% of his passes in the first half. Their run game was unbelievable, thanks to a trio that features Jerron Ealy, Henry Parrish Jr. and Jarod Conner. Ealy would lead the team in rushing in the first half with 122 yards on the ground. As a team, they would combine for 192 rushing yards.

The Rebels might have put up more points in the first half if they did not go for it (and fail) on fourth down while in the red zone so many times. However, their first touchdown of the game was on fourth down. On top of that, one failed attempt on the fourth down turned into an A&M safety on the next play.

Aggies' Second-Half Spark

The Aggies came out of the second half on a mission as they would put points on the board on back-to-back drives. First it was a 30-yard field goal by Seth Small, then a 24-yard run by Devon Achane to cut their deficit to 15-10.

After being held to five first downs in the first half, the Aggies seemed to have sparked another late-game comeback.

Aggies' Offensive Mistakes

Down 15-13 in the middle of the fourth quarter, quarterback Zach Calzada threw an interception that gave the Rebels the ball back inside the 20-yard line. Two plays later, Rebels running back Snoop Conner rushed for a 13-yard touchdown, extending their lead to 22-13.

Calzada's turnover killed all of the momentum A&M had produced in the entire second half. On A&M's very next drive, Ole Miss would pick off Calzada again and return it for a 52-yard pick-six, extending the lead to 16.

The Aggies would score again, but it would not be enough as Ole Miss Rebels would come out on top.
