Tuesday, November 9th is another full slate of NHL games. After only three games the night before, hockey fans will be treated to 10 games with more than enough exciting matchups. With the majority of the teams playing, there are some matchups that provide great bets and potential payouts for sports bettors.

Over 5.5 Carolina Hurricanes Vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

Hurricanes stat line 9 wins in 10 games 3.90 goals per game 2.00 goals against per game
Lightning stat line 6 wins in 11 games 3.18 goals per game 3.09 goals against per game

This game features two of the best offenses in the NHL and the upcoming game should see both units pile on the goals as a result. The Hurricanes will find scoring opportunities on the odd-man rush with cross-ice passes from Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov to catch Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy out of position. In addition, the Hurricanes backend forward shifts can take advantage of a Lightning defense that has struggled in the later pairings this season and not only establish an offensive zone presence but create shots through traffic to find the back of the net.

The Lightning meanwhile will look to take advantage of the speed in their forward unit with Alex Killorn and Brayden Point carrying the puck into the offensive zone without much trouble from the Hurricanes defensemen. Likewise, the Lightning forwards, led by Point and Steven Stamkos are some of the best passers in the offensive zone in the game and will look to create open shots near the net and from the blue line for defenseman Mikhail Sergachev to help open up the offense.

The Over will cover in a high-scoring game controlled by both forward units.

Winnipeg Jets (+100) Vs. St. Louis Blues

Jets stat line 6 wins in 11 games 3.27 goals per game 2.91 goals against per game
Blues stat line 7 wins in 10 games 3.70 goals per game 2.40 goals against per game

The Blues have the best record in the Central Division and are looking to bounce back from a recent 4-1 defeat to the Anaheim Ducks. The problem is that they are facing a Jets team that has been playing its best hockey lately and looks to find favorable matchups on both ends of the ice. The Jets defensemen will look to eliminate the Blues forwards at the blue line with Neal Pionk, Logan Stanley, and the rest of the unit removing the forwards from the puck and forcing the Blues to chip the puck into the offensive zone. Moreover, the Jets didn't have starting goaltender Connor Hellebuyck in the net the last few games but with his return comes more stability in the net and the Jets will limit the Blue offense from finding the back of the net as result.

On the other end of the ice, the Jets have one of the best offenses in the NHL led by great passing in the offensive zone and quick shots from Kyle Connor and Nikolaj Ehlers. The jets will look to not only find quick shots on the net in the offensive zone but also find open shots in the center of the offensive zone off of centering passes from the wings and with quick skating on the wings.

The Jets will win the game with a statement victory at home.

Pittsburgh Penguins (-110) Vs. Chicago Blackhawks

Penguins stat line 4 wins in 10 games 3.30 goals per game 3.00 goals against per game
Blackhawks stat line 2 wins in 13 games 2.15 goals per game 3.69 goals against per game

The Penguins have struggled lately and it's easy to think that the Blackhawks can add on another win as they have turned the corner from a slow start. However, the Blackhawks have still proven to have glaring weaknesses throughout the roster and the Penguins look to overwhelm them on both ends of the ice. The Penguins will pile on the goals against the later pairing of the Blackhawks with Jake Geuntzel, Bryan Rust, and the rest of the forward unit finding quick scoring opportunities on the odd-man rush to take advantage of their speed skating. Likewise, the Penguins should find the back of the net with shots from the point with Kris Letang finding space to generate effective shots.

Speaking of Kris Letang, he should help limit the Blackhawks hapless offense along with Marcus Pettersson and Mark Freidman who are both having career years for the Penguins defensive unit. Letang and the rest of the defense will create turnovers in the neutral zone and defensive zone throughout the game, especially when Patrick Kane and Alex Debrinct aren't on the ice for the Blackhawks. This will allow goaltender Tristan Jerry to have a great game with few difficult shots on the net.

The Penguins will win the game on the road with a much-needed bounce-back game.

San Jose Sharks (+170) Vs. Calgary Flames

Sharks stat line 6 wins in 11 games 2.91 goals per game 2.64 goals against per game
Flames stat line 7 wins in 11 games 3.64 goals per game 2.00 goals against per game

The Flames have looked like one the best teams in the Western Conference to start the season and are expected to add on another win at home in the upcoming matchup against the Sharks. The Sharks, however, have been one of the biggest surprises to start the season and look to take advantage of some mismatches in the upcoming game.

The Sharks will look to pile on the goals with Logan Couture, Tomas Hertl, and the rest of the forward unit finding scoring chances on the wing and the odd-man rush with quick shots on the net to overwhelm Flames goaltender Jacob Markstrom. The Sharks should also find plenty of scoring opportunities from the point with defenseman Brent Burns firing shots on the net, allowing for redirected pucks and also following forwards to find second-chance shots while Erik Karlsson finds open skaters on effective passes to open up the Flames defense.

On the other end of the ice, the Sharks should limit the Flames offense with Brent Burns, Erik Karlsson, Mario Ferraro, and the rest of the defensive unit keeping up with the speed of the Flames forwards and limiting explosive plays off of turnovers. Additionally, the Sharks goaltender James Reimer is having a career year with a .946 save percentage and a 1.60 goals-against average on 167 shots and will blank many of the Flames shots on the goal and potentially put together a shutout.

The Sharks will win the game and provide great odds in the process as road Underdogs.

Under 5.5 Seattle Kraken Vs. Vegas Golden Knights

Kraken stat line 4 wins in 12 games 2.83 goals per game 3.33 goals against per game
Golden Knights stat line 6 wins in 12 games 2.67 goals per game 3.17 goals against per game

The Kraken and Golden Knights have both struggled defensively this season and the upcoming game could become a high-scoring one. The two teams however have looked awful offensively this season and led by their defenses, look to step up and take advantage.

The Kraken will limit the Golden Knights forwards with Jamie Oleksiak and Adam Larsson removing the opposing forwards from the puck with hard hits while also limiting shooting lanes in the offensive zone, allowing goaltender Philipp Grubauer to step up in the net. Moreover, Mark Giordano and Jeremy Lauzon are having great seasons and have provided depth to the Kraken defense and will create turnovers throughout the game and limit passing lanes in the defensive zone.

The Golden Knights meanwhile, will look to possibly shut out the Kraken as they have been led by their defensemen this season. Alec Martinez and Shea Theodore are two of the best defensemen in the defensive zone and will create turnovers throughout the game while also blocking the Kraken shots on goal. Vegas will also look to the later pairings, led by Alex Pietrangelo, to limit the struggling Kraken offense at the blue line and for the opposition to chip the puck into the zone. In addition, the Golden Knights goaltender Robin Lehner has turned a corner on the season and will cover up initial shots from the Kraken, limiting second-chance opportunities.

The Under will cover in a low-scoring game with both defenses stepping up.
