Green Bay faced one of the NFC's toughest teams offensively, the 7-3 LA Rams. The Packers coming into the match after a loss TO ANOTHER good side the Vikings which saw them relinquish the title of the best side in the League at the moment to the Cardinals. They missed Aaron Rodgers's quarter backing no doubt missing that one with an injured toes. He was back for this one and back was good. A 62% completion rate and 307 yards the difference in terms of the match. He had competition from the other side though, Matthew Stafford has been in good form for the Rams . He took time to get going but still had 21/38 and 302 yards. He also wasn't 100% nursing a sore arm. I love the daring part of the Rodgers throw. Check out 0-0 4:35 3rd and 10. He almost found Lazard but this was a team effort, the protection from the Tackles was superb. Rodgers did it all by himself for the first touch down on 02:11,not quite. Watch number 28 Dillon with the fake and the tackle to protect him from the advancing tackle end.
The second quarter was all action with the Rams coming back into it. The Packers led by the field goal from Crosby but the Rams were better offensively in Q2. The highlight reel 60 yard pass by Stafford to Jefferson the best play. Rodgers went long range to Cobb to at 10-7 12:00. They repeated the trick to score the TD at 13-10 04:22. but Rams had the final sat before half time. They kept the ball well in the final two minutes and got just deserts with the Henderson TD to make it a 20-17 half time lead for Green Bay. Another shut out was not what LA needed from Q3. The risk taking from Rodgers showed in terms of his incomplete stats but better that than a turnover. Two unanswered TDs from Green Bay saw them head into Q4 with a commanding 35-17 lead. The Rams were not keeping it well, watch 27-17 04:55. and the pick off on Stafford at 30-17 02:00 by Douglas. The later play proved to be important as the Rams ended up losing by 8 points. They had a good old go at it in Q4 but the gap was pretty much insurmountable the way Green Bay hold on to possession. Beckham with the only TD for LA in the last quarter finding a gap with Douglas napping on cornerback duty right at the start of it. Both sides still look good for the playoffs with positive win-loss records.
