The Monday night Showdown slate on DraftKings features the old guard of NFL quarterbacks with Ben Roethlisberger and the next generation represented by Justin Fields. Let's look at some players to target in DraftKings' Monday Night Millionaire Showdown slate -- with a prize pool of $2.25 million, an entry fee of $20, and a $1 million first-place prize -- and who to use in the critical Captain slot:

CAPTAIN OBVIOUS

Najee Harris, RB, Steelers ($18,600):

Harris is the most expensive player on the slate, and for good reason. No one has produced more spectacularly and consistently as the rookie running back, who has six consecutive games with at least 19 DK points, five with at least 21 and three with at least 24. As Roethlisberger enters the twilight of his career, Harris is the clear focal point of the offense and has at least 30 combined carries/targets in each of the past two games. There's Harris, and there's everyone else on the board.

CAPTAINS COURAGEOUS

Diontae Johnson, WR Steelers ($16,800):

Even at his price point, Harris figures to be the chalkiest chalk that ever chalked. The best place to look for leverage is in the Steelers passing game, with the hope Roethlisberger turns back the clock and decimates a leaky Bears pass defense for the Steelers' scores. The most likely non-Harris player in the Steelers' offense to pop is Johnson, who has at least 12 targets in 4 of his past 5 games.

Pat Freiermuth, TE Steelers ($10,500):

Over his career, Big Ben has loved throwing to his big tight ends. The latest edition is the rookie Freiermuth, who has really come on the past two weeks with seven targets in each game, 11 receptions overall, including a game-winning touchdown last week, and DK totals of 12.8 and 14.4. He gives you just enough salary relief to jam in a bunch of Steelers without crippling the back end of your lineup. If he continues his trend, he could break the slate.

Justin Fields, QB Bears ($15,600):

If you really want to go contrarian, you hop aboard the Fields bandwagon after his breakout performance last week against the 49ers. The Steelers are actually toward the bottom of the league in QB fantasy points allowed, and this figures to be a game where Fields is going to have to be the guy to keep the Bears afloat.

FLEX MIX

Darnell Mooney, WR Bears ($6,400):

I really want to steer clear of the Bears running backs situation, with David Montgomery likely to return off injured reserve just in time to make both Montgomery and Khalil Herbert unplayable. The Bears aren't hanging in this game by running anyway, and Mooney is expected to go, providing Fields with his top passing option.

Chase Claypool, WR Steelers ($9,000):

With the Steelers passing attack narrowed down to Johnson, Freiemuth and Claypool, the former Notre Damer is in play as a leverage piece against both Harris and Johnson. He's had a couple strong games in the past few weeks, so the potential is there. But he's the riskiest play of the three pass-catchers.
