TORONTO, ON - The Brooklyn Nets traveled to Scotiabank Arena to take on a Toronto Raptors team coming off a close loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Raptors' forward Pascal Siakam made his season debut for Toronto on Sunday afternoon.

The Brooklyn Nets would pull away with a huge third-quarter offensive display to defeat the Toronto Raptors, 116-103, to pick up their fifth straight victory.

Durant and Harden Offensive Firepower to Much

Kevin Durant and James Harden were able to do it all offensively against the Toronto Raptors. Durant ended with 31 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Durant's efficient shooting down the stretch of the game was too much for the Raptors to handle.

Durant's running mate, James Harden, tallied 28 points along with 10 rebounds and eight assists, just two assists shy of a triple-double.

All five Nets' starters ended with double-digit point totals. Patty Mills gave the Nets a huge lift off the bench, finishing 3 for 6 shooting from three-point range.

Raptors Rough Shooting Slump

The Raptors shot an abysmal 7 for 30 from three-point range for a 23.3% rate. They matched their season-low with just seven three-pointers.

Toronto led at halftime 60-53. Brooklyn went on to take the lead to start the second half as they went on a 9-0 run that ended with a Blake Griffin three-pointer. The Raptors' inability to contain Durant was costly as he scored 13 points in the third quarter had the Nets heading into the fourth quarter with an 11-point lead.

The Raptors' lackluster defense in the third quarter was just too much to overcome as they fell to the Nets in their second straight loss.

Fred VanVleet led the way for the Raptors, finishing with 21 points. OG Anunoby added 16 points while Gary Trent Jr added 15 points. The Raptors have lost two consecutive games after winning their previous five games.

Siakam had a solid 15 points in his debut as he only played 25 minutes in his first action of the season as head coach Nick Nurse looks to ease him in with more minutes over the next several games.
