The Memphis Grizzlies (6-4) and Minnesota Timberwolves (3-6) played a classic on Monday, November 8 at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee.

The Timberwolves led by 14 points in the fourth quarter. Ja Morant and the Grizzlies would find a way to rally and take the lead with under a minute to play. Trailing by three points, Karl Anthony-Towns made a near half-court shot as time expired to send the game to overtime.

Overtime was all Grizzlies. They outscored the Timberwolves 12-5 in the extra period to walk away with the 125-118 victory. Morant led the way for the Grizzlies with 33 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds in what was yet another great performance from Morant.

Grizz Get it Done

The Grizzlies had their backs against the walls at many different points in this game. They fell behind 17-5 in the first quarter but would use a 19-5 run to get themselves right back in the game.

It would not last though as the Timberwolves would gain control in the third quarter as they outscored the Grizzlies 38-23.

Then the Grizzlies rallied down double digits in the fourth quarter.

Down two points with just 56 seconds to play, Ja Morant went to work. First, the Murray State Alumnus delivered a posterizing dunk to tie the game at 108-108. Then, after a turnover, Morant nailed a three-pointer to give the Grizzlies a 111-108 lead with 32 seconds to play.

After rallying in the fourth, the Grizzlies were able to put together a great overtime period to seal the win.

It wasn't just Morant that was great on Monday as the Grizzlies played their usual unselfish basketball. Brandon Clarke provided a great spark off the bench as he finished with 20 points and 9 rebounds. De'Anthony Melton made several huge buckets and finished with 19 points. Jaren Jackson Jr. played great defense down the stretch and made a few big buckets. He ended the night with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.

It was an all-around effort from the Grizzlies on Monday night. They were able to grind out a great win against a very capable Timberwolves squad.

'Wolves Blow It

Monday's loss has to be a heartbreaker for the Timberwolves. They had so many opportunities to win the game as they held several huge leads throughout the night.

They looked to have taken control of the game in the second half. In the third quarter, they outscored the Grizzlies 38-23 and looked to be in the driver's seat. They had an 11-point lead as the quarter ended.

Their lead would grow to as much as 17, but it would be all downhill from there as the Grizzlies would rally back. Even as the game seemed to be all but over, Towns nailed an insane shot to send the game to OT. They just were unable to keep up with the Grizzlies in the extra frame.

Towns had the huge shot to send the game to overtime and finished with 25 points and 13 rebounds. D'Angelo Russell exploded for 30 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Anthony Edwards added 27 points.

They are the fourth-youngest roster in the league but these growing pains have to be rough.
