Preview Of TNF Matchup

Matt Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams (3-1) traveled to Lumen Field to take on Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks.

The Rams came off their first loss of the season to the Arizona Cardinals. The defense struggled to stop Kyler Murray and the high-powered Cardinals offense. The Rams known for having one of the better defenses in the leagues looked unlike themselves against the Cardinals, as they gave up 37 points. They looked to rebound against the Seahawks and get back to their winning ways.

The Seahawks are coming off a win from the San Francisco 49ers. The game came down to the wire, but Wilson and the offense made the necessary plays to get the win. They played against one of the better defensive lines in the league led by Aaron Donald on Thursday. We found out if they came out top tonight.

Seattle Leads by Four at The Half

Both offenses came out slow to start the game. Into the second quarter, both teams were scoreless. Stafford and Wilson exchanged interceptions. Seattle would come away with the first points of the night as Russell Wilson connected with DK Metcalf for a 19-yard touchdown. The Rams were able to get their running game going with Darrell Henderson and Sony Michel. Their passing game was also productive as Stafford and Robert Woods established a good connection, as Woods caught all six of his targets. The problem for Los Angeles has been getting into the endzone. They settled for just three points on a Matt Gay field goal heading into halftime.

Seattle had a chance to extend the lead to seven just before halftime. However, Jason Myers's field goal was wide left from 35 yards. Seahawks went into halftime up just four points. Russell Wilson has played well even after having one interception in the first half. They looked to establish the passing attack with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett headed into the second half.

Stafford and the Rams offense will look to continue feeding the running game. Henderson was on the sideline to end the half with an apparent left arm injury. They looked to mix it up in the second half with a balanced rushing and passing attack and look to keep Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp involved in the second half.

Stafford and Woods Connection Too Much for Seattle

Seattle struggled to start the second half. On Los Angeles's first drive of the second half, Stafford began to heat up as he connected with speedster DeSean Jackson for a 68-yard gain. Which set up Darrell Henderson for a five-yard rush in a touchdown. Stafford with a little over four minutes remaining in the third quarter. Connected with Tyler Higbee for a 13-yard touchdown. Which would put the Rams up 16-7.

Into the fourth quarter Seahawks quarterback, Russell Wilson would be sidelined due to an injury on his middle finger and would not return. Backup quarterback Geno Smith would enter the game and would lead a ten-play drive. That would end in a pass and score from Smith to Metcalf from 23 yards out to cut the top two. The Rams got the ball back and just as they did all game long Stafford passed the ball with ease. As he connected with Woods for a gain of 24 yards then connected with Kupp for a gain of 33 yards. Which set up a Sony Michel for a run-in touchdown which extended the lead to nine points. The Seahawks would ultimately get a field goal and a stop on defense and had another chance to win the game. The Rams safety Nick Scott made the play and intercepted Geno Smith to seal the deal.

The Los Angeles Rams get the win over Seattle Seahawks 26-17.

The Rams Improve to (4-1) and the Seahawks fall too (2-3).
