Rob Zombie has revealed the main cast for his upcoming reboot of "The Munsters" along with all of them dressed in character for the movie…
There will be plenty of familiar faces in Rob Zombie's upcoming reboot of "The Munsters."
The rock star turned director had been pursuing a film version of the classic 1960s monster-sitcom for many years but he finally got the green light with production taking place in Hungary.
After building a new house on 1313 Mockingbird Lane, Zombie then revealed a first look at the main cast, who will be portraying "The Munsters" in the new film.
"Since Halloween is rapidly approaching I thought it was the perfect time to MEET THE MUNSTERS!" Zombie wrote on Instagram. "Direct from the set in good old Hungary. I present Herman, Lily and The Count sitting in front of the newly completed 1313 Mockingbird Lane."
The lead cast includes Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, Zombie's wife Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster and Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa Munster.
Fans of Zombie's past films will recognize all three of those names as frequent collaborators including Phillips appearing in "Halloween II," "Lords of Salem," "31" and "3 From Hell" and Roebuck previously popping up in "The Devil's Rejects," "Halloween," Halloween II," "31" and "3 From Hell."
Of course, Sheri Moon Zombie has appeared in all of her husband's past films including his first, "House of 1,000 Corpses."
Not much is known about Zombie's plans for the story with "The Munsters" but he's been a lifelong fan of the original TV series, which has been documented in both his music and the videos that go along with many of his albums including one of his most famous songs "Dragula," which is named after the drag car built by Grandpa in "The Munsters."
Universal is producing "The Munsters" reboot with production already underway in Hungary.
