Barca with an impressive come from being victory slightly proving the Koeman doubters wrong. I say slightly because it wasn't exactly the vintage Barca possession game(just 61%, i say just because Barca averaged nearly 70% under Pep) most fans grew to love. Defending is clearly still a major issue. Gaya's goal is a perfect illustration of the lack of coordination between the defensive midfield department and the defense. In a corner kick set up the defending side should leave at two men on the edge of the box to pick up the scraps should the ball be cleared. Busquets would have been the preferred player in that role instead of Gavi. Last point on corners, the stats favor an in swinger but most teams somehow go for the out swinger. An in-swinger requires only a minor force to direct it goal wards.

My pick is Ansu Fati as the heir apparent to Messi and the young guy had an excellent return to the starting eleven for the Catalans. Not only the distance covered but his attempts at goal were solid. The goal capping it off, he can shoot with either foot. Penalties tend to create a lot of anguish amongst fans and coaches but they rarely are decisive in matches. One thing I noticed is the quickness of the Barca passing, the snap is back much better than the Atleti match by far. Not much in it for the penalty for me, but hey if you lunge like Gaya did ,you are asking for trouble.

Los Che weren't shot shy by any stretch. They struck the post and Guedes tested Ter Stegen well in the second half. Lastly good to see cameos from almost forgotten men, Coutinho and Kun Aguero. Professionalism goes a long way in sports so commendable the two are still giving 100 percent even though the coach isn't guaranteeing game time. To the prizes now, joint best players for Barca are Fati and US international Dest. Just look at how Dest lost two markers for the Coutinho goal. Not only that his overlapping runs gave Gaya something to think about. For Los Che it has to be Guedes.
