The first full trailer for the final installment of "The Walking Dead: World Beyond" has arrived along with a familiar face from "The Walking Dead" making her return…
"The Walking Dead: World Beyond" will return for a second and final season on October 3 and the first full length trailer welcomes back a character from the main series who hasn't been seen in some time.
While there's plenty to unpack from the new trailer, the truly interesting part comes in the closing seconds as Jadis aka Anne as played by Pollyanna McIntosh makes her surprising return to "The Walking Dead" universe.
The last time Jadis was seen was during "The Walking Dead" season 9 when a bridge explosion presumably killed Rick Grimes but in reality he was rescued by the former trash queen who had been secretly connected to a group known as the CRM — the Civic Republic Military. The CRM has popped up across all three "Walking Dead" series as recognized by their symbol with three interconnected circles.
Jadis decided to save Rick's life by calling on the CRM to come rescue them and give him medical attention and that's the last time he was seen alive.
Of course, Rick's portrayer Andrew Lincoln was looking for an exit from "The Walking Dead" so he could spend more time with his family at home in England, which necessitated his leaving the show. Eventually, Lincoln signed onto return as Rick Grimes in a trio of films based in "The Walking Dead" universe, although there's been no real updated on those movies in some time.
Regardless, Jadis will make her return in "The Walking Dead: World Beyond" as she joins the show as a series regular for the upcoming season, which might lend some insight into what exactly happened to Rick Grimes after he was rescued in that helicopter all those years ago.
Take a look at the new trailer and get ready for "The Walking Dead: World Beyond" to debut on Sunday night, Oct. 3 on AMC.
