The final trailer for Marvel's "The Eternals" addresses some important questions including why they didn't show up to face Thanos….

There remains a lot of mystery around Marvel's "The Eternals" movie but the final trailer for the upcoming film from Oscar winner Chloe Zhao seeks to answer at least one of the biggest questions…

Where were these powerful cosmic beings when Thanos was using the Infinity Gauntlet to wipe out half of life in the universe?

Well that is finally explained in the new trailer ahead of the film's release on November 5 after Dane Whitman (played by "Game of Thrones" favorite Kit Harington) asks that question to Sersi (played by Gemma Chan).

"We were instructed not to interfere in any human conflicts unless Deviants were involved," Sersi explains.

In the comic books, The Eternals are at constant odds with the Deviants, who are essentially their evil cosmic counterparts. While The Eternals were forbidden from interfering in any matters involving humanity, half the universe being wiped out and then resurrected five years later has created a massive rift across space and time, which also means the return of the Deviants.

Throughout the trailer, a lot of familiar faces also pop up including Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Salma Hayek as Ajak, and Angelina Jolie as Thena.

It's safe to say that "The Eternals" will certainly be one of the most ambitious Marvel Studios projects to date, especially given the immense power that these particular beings wield. Of course it can't be forgotten that Marvel will be diving into the multiverse with many of the upcoming films but it's unclear if that will play a major role in "The Eternals" or not.

For now, take a look at the new and final trailer ahead of the film's release in theaters on Nov. 5. as well as the new poster for the movie below:
