After a week of dipping our toes in the college football water, our first full slate of the college football season is upon us in Week 2, Saturday, September 4). A 13-game slate gives us much more meat on the bone this week, with many of our heavy-hitters in action. We turn our attention to the players we believe will come out of the gates strong.

(All prices listed on DraftKings, for Saturday, 9/4)

QUARTERBACKS:

Jake Haener: Fresno State Bulldogs ($7600 at Oregon)

A week ago, we were not the biggest fans of Jake Haener. It had nothing to do with the player himself but rather the price tag. On the previous slate, you had to pay $9700 to get Haener in your lineups. This week you receive a $2100 discount in a game that Vegas believes will be high-scoring (61.5 O/U) and a game the Bulldogs should be chasing (21 point underdogs).

Take the discount and enjoy the points.

Kaleb Eleby: Western Michigan Broncos ($7300 at Michigan)

Some have dubbed Kaleb Eleby as the 'best-kept secret in college football.' Now, there are no secrets anymore, even out of small schools. Too much Internet. But I would tend to agree. Eleby played extremely well a year ago and is looking to carry the momentum forward into 2021. The Broncos/Wolverines game has a 67.5 O/U Vegas expects a shootout in this one. Western Michigan will likely be chasing throughout as a 17.5 point underdog making Kaleb Eleby a bargain, heavy-thrower at his current price.

Anthony Brown: Oregon Ducks ($8300 vs. Fresno State)

Earlier in the article, we mentioned Anthony Brown's opposing QB Jake Haener as a potential play in your DFS lineup. I enjoy getting the quarterbacks on both sides of a shootout in the Super-Flex format and just watching the points pile up. Anthony Brown is a sixth-year senior and has shown the ability to galvanize a program. I anticipate the Ducks playing well right out of the gate. For $8300, Anthony Brown is a solid bet for your DFS lineups.

Brock Purdy: Iowa State Cyclones ($7900 vs. Northern Iowa)

Brock Purdy returned to school for one reason: to win a Big XII title. The Cyclones have the pieces in place to make a run at it. Iowa State should put Northern Iowa away with relative ease. The hope is that the Panthers keep it close early on to avoid the blowout and keep Purdy firing away deep into the game. At $7900, Brock Purdy is a sound investment.

Will Rogers: Mississippi State Bulldogs ($8700 vs. Louisiana Tech)

Will Rogers was incredibly composed and impressive during his freshman season in 2020. At the helm of the pass-friendly Mike Leach offense, Rogers should have a prolific 2021. Mississippi State should jump on Louisiana Tech early and often in the opener. Will Rogers provides the type of upside that makes sense in your DFS lineups.

RUNNING BACKS:

Bijan Robinson: Texas Longhorns ($7400 vs. Louisiana Lafayette)

I was stunned when I first saw this price. Bijan Robinson may be the most talented running back in the entire nation. I love Breece Hall as much as the next guy, but there is no reason why he is $1600 more expensive than Bijan Robinson. Buy the dip! I am not a huge proponent of the Longhorns as a team long-term this 2021 season, but I like them in this spot. Buy Bijan.

Tyler Goodson: Iowa Hawkeyes ($6800 vs. Indiana)

People need to start putting some respect on Tyler Goodson's name. Tyler Goodson is one of the more unheralded backs in all of college football. Goodson has a golden opportunity to prove the doubters wrong and kick off the 2021 season in style.

Jalen Berger: Wisconsin Badgers ($6100 vs. Penn State)

Jalen Berger is the next Badgers back in line to become a Wisconsin bell cow. Wisconsin has never shied away from feeding a back relentlessly and letting him smash into the defense, behind their big offensive line. Jalen Berger is far from a plodder and has some juice. Combine Berger's ability and the expected volume, and you have a dynamite DFS play for just $6100.

Eric Gray: Oklahoma Sooners ($6900 at Tulane)

Eric Gray is one of the most fascinating players in all of college football. A breathtaking talent, Eric Gray should make for an ideal fit in the Lincoln Riley-led offense. We will look back in a few short weeks at this price and find it laughable. Eric Gray is about to sky-rocket, and this is a chance to get him in your DFS lineup for as cheap as he will be all year long.

Brian Robinson Jr: Alabama Crimson Tide ($6500 at Miami (FL)

The Alabama starting running back has been a fixture in DFS lineups for quite some time. Brian Robinson Jr. appears to be the back at the head of the line for the time being. The Hurricanes won't be able to hold up for sixty minutes against the Crimson Tide. For just $6500, roll Robinson Jr. into your DFS lineups with confidence.

WIDE RECEIVERS:

Marvin Mims: Oklahoma Sooners ($7700 at Tulane)

This price feels like a conservative one for Marvin Mims. Mims will be the #1 passing option for Spencer Rattler in 2021. Tulane is not going to have any answers for the Sooners' offense. This game will turn into a showcase for Rattler, and by virtue, Mims as well. Don't watch the highlights on ESPN without first garnering these points.

John Metchie III: Alabama Crimson Tide ($8100 at Miami (FL)

No reason to get too cute early in the season. With Jaylen Waddle and DeVonta Smith moving on to the NFL, John Metchie III is the last man standing as the new alpha receiver for the Crimson Tide. The Hurricanes will eventually wilt against the Crimson Tide offense, and John Metchie III should have his way with the Miami defensive backs. Expect the Heisman poses in the endzone to start early.

Ty Fryfogle: Indiana Hoosiers ($6800 at Iowa)

Ty Fryfogle is the primary offense for the Indiana Hoosiers entering into the 2021 season. The expectation is that the Hoosiers are going to be chasing throughout this one. If they are going to remain competitive, Ty Fryfogle will have to have himself a big game.

Jahan Dotson: Penn State Nittany Lions ($7500 at Wisconsin)

The Nittany Lions will need some explosive plays in the intermediate passing game with Sean Clifford under center. Jahan Dotson is just the type of player that can help in this regard. I wouldn't expect Penn State to do very well running the ball against Wisconsin, so they will likely turn to the air. Fire up Jahan Dotson in your DFS lineups in this one and look for some key receptions.

Jalen Cropper: Fresno State Bulldogs ($6100 at Oregon)

For the second week in a row, we are recommending playing Jalen Cropper. I don't know how you can get away from this price. Jalen Cropper will be on the receiving end of targets in a game that Vegas believes will be very high-scoring. At $6100, Jalen Cropper is a steal!
